HaruKorean’s point system is designed to help you keep track of your progress in learning with the lessons provided on the site, as well as reward the top students every month.
How to earn or lose points
You can earn points by studying new lessons and writing your own practice sentences, but you may also lose points if you write too many sentences that are irrelevant to the specific lesson.
You will get:
+1 point when you study a new lesson
(This is recorded by the first sentence you write for the lesson.)
+1 point when you get a correction for the first sentence of the day for any lesson
(Additional corrections for the same sentence get no points. Additional sentences for the same lesson on the same day get no extra points, either.)
+1 point when you share your sentence through either Twitter or Facebook
(After you get up to 6 points, you need to wait 10 hours before sharing is reactivated for you.)
+2 points for receiving a correction or a "Great Sentence" approval from a trusted teacher, even if your sentence isn't perfect.
(A “perfect” approval from other native speaker teachers won’t give you points.)
-3 points for a bad and irrelevant sentence
(It is okay and even encouraged to make mistakes in your sentences, but writing irrelevant sentences just to get points will give you -3 points.)
0 point for a sentence that doesn't need correction
(This includes the ones just copied and pasted from the lesson note's example sentences.)
