Frequently Asked Questions

1. How does the Point System work?

You can earn points by studying new lessons and writing your own practice sentences, but you may also lose points if you write too many sentences that are irrelevant to the specific lesson.

Please check out the Point System page to read the details.

2. What is the best way to study at HaruKorean?

The best way to use HaruKorean to improve your Korean is to make a lot of sentences on your own. But rather than just writing a lot of sentences, trying to write a sentence that you actually want to be able to say is more important.

After you study with a new lesson, read out loud the grammar point or the key expression of the lesson, as well as the sample expressions. And then write a couple of sentences on your own in the sentence box below each lesson, to see if you really understood what you just studied. Try using the same key word or structure introduced in the lesson, and think of something that you would want to say in Korean, in your everyday life.

You will get corrections from native-speaker teachers on HaruKorean, but by sharing your practice sentences on Twitter or Facebook, you can also get feedback from your friends and fellow learners who are not members of the website.

3. Which lesson should I study first?

If you are an absolute beginner in Korean, we recommend that you start from the very first lessons in the TalkToMeInKorean series. (You can find them in the top menu bar.)

If you have already studied some Korean and want to learn more, you can browse through the various types of lessons by going to the Lessons section. Read the titles of the lessons and choose any lesson that you find interesting. The more lessons you study, the better, but please take time to make sure that you understood everything from each lesson. If you’re not sure, practice by making your own sentences. You will get corrections and comments from native-speaker teachers.

4. What is the refund policy?

We hope that you find HaruKorean an invaluable resource for learning Korean and never want a refund! We do, however, understand that there are some circumstances where one would need to request a refund of their purchase. If you are requesting a refund, please keep our policy in mind:

1-month subscription: No refund is available.
