How does HaruKorean work?
When you are learning a new language, it is important to practice writing and saying your own sentences rather than just repeating something that makes no connection in your brain. HaruKorean is here to help you make that connection by giving you the opportunity to make your Korean sentences more flexible, richer, correct, and applicable to you and what you want to say!
There is a new lesson posted at HaruKorean every day, but you do not have to wait a full day for another lesson since you can also study with any of the hundreds of previously published lessons that you find interesting or helpful. After you finish each lesson, you can practice by making your own Korean sentences using the key points from the lesson. Once you’ve written and submitted your sentences, they will be corrected by native Korean speakers within 24 hours of submission.
Where do I begin?
You can start with Level 1, or you can browse through the various lesson types and categories via the “lessons” tab on the top of the page to choose the lesson type that you like. Even after you have completed all of the published lessons, there will always be a new lesson posted each day, so you will never run out of material to study.
How to study with HaruKorean
There are two main sections at HaruKorean: the “questions” section and “lessons” section.
In the section containing the lessons, you can listen to audio lessons or watch video lessons. After studying with the lessons, you can practice what you just learned by making your own sentences that include the key points which were introduced in that certain lesson.
In the “questions” section, you will see a new “Question of the Day” posted everyday as well as a new photo posted several times per week. Your job is to answer the “Question of the Day” and/or describe the photo in Korean by using all of your Korean knowledge!
Get corrections from native speakers
Receiving corrections from native Korean speakers for your sentences is really simple! All you have to do is write your practice sentences, either as an answer to a question or as a sample sentence of your own, and press “write”. Once you write a practice sentence, a native Korean speaker will check it, revise it (if necessary), and provide you with the correction or approval that it is correct. You can write an unlimited number of sentences every day, and each sentence will be corrected within 24 hours of submission.
